1. Apple’s AirPods Pro 3 to get ‘live translation’ powers: The $249 earbuds, powered by Apple’s AI tech, will soon offer live translation and help users hold conversations in different languages. The earbuds can also track your heart rate and offer improved noise cancellation. You can see the translation feature in action here. Apple’s new iPhones, by contrast, saw relatively minor AI upgrades, including some camera tweaks and on-device AI tools.

2. Claude can now create and edit files for you in chat: Claude users can now create and modify spreadsheets, documents, presentations, and PDFs directly through the chatbot. Users can simply upload and describe the file they want, and receive ready-to-use outputs: from entire financial models to project trackers and statistical analyses. The feature is available in preview for Max, Team, and Enterprise plans, with Pro access expected to arrive soon. You can see the new feature in action here.

3. The UAE throws its hat in the ring with new open-source model: The country unveiled ‘K2 Think’, a 32-billion-parameter reasoning model that claims to outperform much larger models in math and advanced problem-solving benchmarks. The open source model provides researchers with training code, datasets, and deployment tools, building on the UAE’s existing AI portfolio that includes models like Jais and Falcon.
