1. Meta’s AI-powered smart glasses are here: The Facebook maker has launched three new AI-powered glasses. The Ray-Ban Display shows apps, photos, and directions on the right lens, and the glasses can be controlled with the Neural Band wristband. 2. China reportedly blocks Nvidia’s AI chips: The Financial Times claims Chinese regulators have blocked companies like Alibaba and ByteDance from buying or testing Nvidia’s RTX Pro 6000D AI chips. The move comes months after Nvidia worked with the US government to resume sales under a deal that gave Washington 15% of revenue. Meanwhile, Huawei has unveiled a new AI chip in a bid to challenge Nvidia’s dominance.
3. AI models outperform humans at toughest coding contest: OpenAI’s GPT-5 scored a 12/12 at the ICPC World Finals, while Google’s Gemini 2.5 Deep Think solved 10 problems to claim second place overall. No human teams managed a perfect score in the competition that drew 139 universities from 100+ countries. OpenAI nailed 11 problems on the first try and cracked the hardest one on the ninth attempt.
