1. OpenAI rolls out payment feature for shopping: Instant Checkout lets US ChatGPT users purchase Etsy products directly in their chat. Shoppers no longer need to leave the app to complete a purchase. The system, built with Stripe, allows merchants to connect their stores to ChatGPT, while buyers can confirm payment and shipping in just a few taps. Currently, the feature only supports single-item purchases, with multi-item carts and Shopify merchants coming soon. See it in action here.
2. Anthropic launches new AI model: Claude Sonnet 4.5 is designed to handle complex coding and multi-step projects for up to 30 hours. Early users report it can build apps, manage databases, and perform security checks, while benchmarks show improvements in reasoning, math, and computer tasks. Anthropic has also introduced the Claude Agent SDK for building AI agents, as well as Imagine with Claude, a new feature for generating mini apps.
3. OpenAI reportedly building an AI-only TikTok-style app: The ChatGPT maker is reportedly building a social app for its Sora 2 video model, offering a vertical, swipe-to-scroll feed that will only feature AI-generated clips. Videos will be capped at 10 seconds, and users will not be allowed to upload personal photos or clips. The app will include basic social features like liking, commenting, and remixing posts. The move follows Meta’s recent experiment with an AI-only feed called Vibes.
